August Activities and Events in Ajax for Free

Are you looking for ways to entertain the kids before they go back to school? Maybe you’re just looking for something to do before summer comes to an end. Here are a few inexpensive (some even free!) activities for residents and neighbours to enjoy this month in Ajax.

Ajax Waterfront Festival

August 11, 2012 from 12:00pm - 5:00pm                                                                                                            

Ajax Waterfront - 177 Lake Driveway W, Ajax

Bring the family to experience Ajax's waterfront like never before. 7km's of fun with events and activities to take part in at five distinct spots along the waterfront.                                                         

-Rotary Park: Taste of Ajax - showcasing the diversity of Ajax's dining community also activities for children, live entertainment and a beer and wine garden.

-Lions Point: Ajax kite festival featuring kite flying demonstrations.

-Veterans Point: Take a self guided tour of Ajax's history and heritage.

-Paradise Park: Enjoy a DJ, BBQ, beach volleyball, and see professional sand sculptures.

- Caruthers Marsh Pavillion: Games, face painting, and arts & crafts for the kids.

Movies at the Park

August 16, 2012 from 9:00pm - 11:00pm

Rotary Park - 177 Lake Driveway W, Ajax

Enjoy an outdoor movie theatre experiencce with the family. Make sure to come prepared with a chair, bug spray, blanket and snacks. Although this is a free event, please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food bank.

Family Fun Day at the Races

August 19, 2012 from 10:30pm - 4:00pm

Ajax Downs - 50 Alexander's Crossing, Ajax

This family event is in support of the Rouge Valley Health System. Activities include face painting, crafts, loot bags, free draws, petting zoo, and magician. Meet hockey legends Wendel Clark and Darryl Sittler for autographs between 11am - 2pm.
